  • Google Docs is a Web-based application with a word processor, presentation and spreadsheet. One can create and edit documents, presentations and spreadsheets while collaborating online in real-time with other users. With Google documents, you can easily create, share, and edit documents online.

    The focus of this course is on developing the skills to fully take advantage of Google Docs by using the Spreadsheet Application to Calculate Weight Training Workouts.

  • Web 2.0 describes the changing trends in the use of World Wide Web technology and web design that aim to enhance creativity, secure information sharing, collaboration and functionality of the web. Web 2.0 concepts have led to the development and evolution of web-based communities and hosted services, such as social-networking sites, video sharing sites, wikis, blogs, and folksonomies. The term became notable after the first O'Reilly Media Web 2.0 conference in 2004.[1][2] Although the term suggests a new version of the World Wide Web, it does not refer to an update to any technical specifications, but rather to changes in the ways software developers and end-users utilize the Web.

This unit provides a guide to the downsides of living with the Net. Advice on how to deal with these dangers is provided and security issues like spyware and adware are explained. The unit also deals with protecting children online, and provides links to various helpful websites which deal with the problems raised.
